At this Park
2100 acre Park managed by: National Park Service
This park has it all: miles of trails, hills, cliffs, beaches, forested valleys and spectacular views of the coast, San Francisco, and the Golden Gate Bridge.
The Marin Headlands of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area offers a vast array of activities just north of the Golden Gate Bridge. In fall, thousands of raptors migrate through the area, and in spring, wildflowers decorate the park’s sunny acres. Facilities within the park include historic military buildings, a visitor center, a campground, a hostel, an art center, a marine mammal rehabilitation and research facility, and an indoor-outdoor children’s museum.
