Energetic hikers, bicyclists, and equestrians appreciate the rugged and steep terrain of this park and its grasslands, steep chaparral, oak woodland forests. and shady riparian corridors.
This sprawling 17,000-acre Sierra Azul preserve covers a wide swath of the Santa Cruz Mountains. From the wide trails here, you’ll get great views of the mountains, Los Gatos, and the odd 6-story concrete monolith that once housed a radar station that was part of the national strategic defense network.
