Alum Rock Park

The park’s peaceful acres offer trails for hiking, biking, and horseback riding; picnic areas and barbeques; children’s play lots and sand volleyball courts; a visitor center with educational displays; and the Youth Science Institute, a science education center for young students. The park’s canyon setting provides grassy south-facing slopes, forested northern exposures, riparian habitat along the creek in the valley bottom, and expansive views from the ridges. Its trails are a favorite with local runners, and the steep canyon slopes display the diversity of California's.native vegetation.
