Join Rich McDrew, current MDIA Board Director and past MDIA President, on this first day in June, to hike to several historical sites in the Park. This is an 8+ miles hike with a 1,700-foot elevation gain classed as a 2/3B hike–moderately strenuous. We’ll hike up Summit Trail past three Trail Through Time interpretive panels to the 1870s hotel site. We’ll pass the famous Meridian on Green Ranch Road, then to the 1940s Green Ranch where we will have lunch at the Green Ranch house in the living room by the fireplace. Then we’ll proceed to three ponds–Frog, Hidden, and Chase. Next will be Curry Canyon with remnants of Native American presence, and more recent livestock ranching. Our return will be uphill to Curry Point and our parked vehicles. Heavy Rain cancels.
