Crystal Springs Hike
Produced by Rick Bacigalupi
For more than a century, thousands of acres on the San Francisco Peninsula have been protected as watershed lands to provide water for the city of San Francisco. Though visible from Interstate 280, those lands remain largely closed to the public. But the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission allows scheduled tours along Fifield-Cahill Ridge with trained docents and Watershed Keepers.
We took two groups of Bay Nature readers there in August 2008 as part of our hikes program.
