Aquarium of the Bay ‘To Eat Or Not To Eat’ Responsible Seafood Choices

April 1, 2002

Marine biologists and environmental organizations have been sounding the alarm for a number of years about precipitous declines in fish populations around the world. To help get the word out about which seafood choices are best to preserve our marine environment, The Aquarium of the Bay (on Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco) is presenting “To Eat or Not To Eat.” This benefit event will bring together some of San Francisco’s top chefs and fishery experts on Monday, April 22 (Earth Day), to educate and delight you with sustainable sea-food delicacies, wine, and information (415-623-5301 or www.aquariumofthebay.com). The Monterey Bay Aquarium has played an important role in initiating this educational campaign about sustainable seafood consumption; it is presenting “Seafood Choices: What’s for Dinner?” on Wednesday, May 15, 7:30-9:30 p.m. (831-633-6565 or www.montereybayaquarium.org). Reservations are required for both events.
