Bay Nature Reading

October 1, 2001

Just to show that you don’t necessarily need to go outside of urban San Francisco to enjoy Bay Area wildlife, Bay Nature is hosting a free public program at Black Oak Books in San Francisco on “Nature & the City.” The program, on Monday October 29, at 7:30 p.m., will be hosted by Bay Nature publisher Malcolm Margolin, author of East Bay Out and The Ohlone Way. Joining Malcolm will be author Rebecca Solnit (Wanderlust: A History of Walking and Savage Dreams: A Journey into the Landscape Wars of the American West); Nancy Morita, creator of the “Wild in the City” slideshow; Paul McHugh, outdoor editor for the San Francisco Chronicle; and Pete Holloran, former coordinator of the native plant revegetation program at the Presidio. Black Oak Books is at 540 Broadway in San Francisco; call (415) 986-3872 for directions.
