The Napa River once spread across a wide floodplain, but it is now constrained to a narrow wooded channel. A landowners’ group is undertaking restoration work on the river near the town of Rutherford, while an Oakland-based nonprofit has received funding for projects on ten miles of river downstream past Yountville.
