A Virtual Walk in the Forest: Trees of the Bay Area

November 14, 2020 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

| Free
Missing nature’s fall colors? Then come indulge your inner druid and join us for a Zoom presentation about our native trees!

What tree did John Muir call “a sturdy mountaineer”? Is there really a refrigerator tree that you can hug on a hot day to cool you off? What tree was the original source of aspirin? How are climate change and habitat loss impacting our native trees?

Trees come with their own entourage of groupies, but are the trees really “lichen” their relationship with all the floral and faunal hangers-on? Some can be a real pain in the bark.

We’ll also share tales of early day botanical explorers who risked life and limb to learn the secrets of the trees!
