All About Bats! Bats are fascinating, unique animals that were surrounded by myths and lore long before the pandemic gave them a bad rap. Able to fly, hear ultrasonic sounds, and eat thousands of insects in a single night, there is a lot more to bats than meets the eye! Join us for a special evening webinar with Corky Quirk, founder of NorCal Bats, and her live ambassador bats (yes, real bats!) learning all about common bat species, highlighting their importance to our local environment, debunking common myths, and seeing their amazing adaptations up close and personal.

Corky Quirk is the founder of NorCal Bats, an organization that provides care for injured bats and educational programs for libraries, schools, nature programs, fairs and other events throughout the region. Corky has been working intensely with native bats since 2004 and has educated thousands of people. She works with injured and orphaned bats, returning them to the wild and keeps a captive colony of non-releasable bats for use in education. She is permitted through the CA Department of Fish and Wildlife and the USDA. She is also an experienced environmental educator with a degree in natural resource planning and interpretation from Humboldt State University who got her start with Camp Fire Boys and Girls. She teaches three days a week at Yolo Basin Foundation, a wetland education program in the Sacramento Valley, in addition to her work with bats.

Please note – To make this program available to as many people as possible, there are multiple ticket prices available. Please choose the ticket that is appropriate for you.

Please contact Allison directly at if you are keenly interested in this learning opportunity and unable to pay at this time. Registrants will receive a link to the recording after the conclusion of the webinar.
