Join docent naturalists Frances Reneau, Chris MacIntosh, and Wendy Crowder to explore this small yet mighty preserve on the edge of San Francisco Bay that boasts a boardwalk trail through salt marsh habitat with a vital connection to some 80 miles of continuous Bay Trail! Winter migrant birds along the Pacific Flyway stop here and should make for good birdwatching on this short, leisurely-paced flat hike. Bring your binoculars and a spotting scope if you have them. Reservations are required and will be accepted on or after January 9 and close January 21 at 2:00 p.m.
Meet at the preserve parking lot. From Highway 101, exit on University Avenue. Follow University Ave. north (about four long blocks) to Bay Road. Turn right on Bay Rd. and follow it to the very end (about 1.2 miles). The preserve entrance and parking lot are marked with large signs.
Note: Regardless of vaccination status, all activity participants will be required to wear a mask when physical distancing cannot be maintained. Please review the additional COVID-19 safety protocols provided when you register for an activity.
