Armstrong Redwoods Docent Training in October

Tuesday, October 25 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

| Free

This training workshop is for people who want to be tour docents at Armstrong Redwoods, including both new docents and people who would like a refresher. It will include both docent skill development (how to lead student and adult groups), the basic features that people should see when visiting Armstrong Redwoods, and materials to use when learning about Armstrong Redwoods and when leading groups. It will also include information about the effects of recent fires on Armstrong Redwoods and suggestions for incorporating climate change into your teaching. (This is an introductory workshop. A more advanced workshop titled Hike With Mike is offered periodically.)

Instructors: Mike Roa & Greg Corby

Mike is a retired teacher and the author of Redwood Ed, A Guide to the Sea, and The Conifer Connection. In his “retirement,” Mike serves as a docent for Stewards and helps to organize the North Bay Science Discovery Day.

Greg is also a retired elementary teacher who enjoys working with the K-3 school groups.
