Join the world’s fastest mammal presentation as the Bat Talk and Walk program is back in person!
You’ll start at the Yolo Bypass Wildlife Area Headquarters, where you will learn about the natural history of bats worldwide focusing on bats of Northern California and their role in the environment. Part of the program includes meeting live bats via a webcam. At the Yolo Bypass Wildlife Area, you can watch a truly breathtaking flyout of Mexican free-tailed bats fly out from under the causeway for their nightly hunt. The bats emerge from under the causeway around sunset, creating a perfect backdrop for this natural phenomenon.
It’s highly recommended to join the 45-minute talk to fully appreciate the evening flyout of the bats.
Registration will open on May 25 for Friends of Yolo Basin Foundation and June 1 for the general public.
