Bay Nature Pine Canyon Hike

Friday, May 17 @ 4:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Join Bay Nature and The Peregrine Team of the Mount Diablo Interpretive Association for a natural history hike in Pine Canyon. We’ll hike along the base of the Castle Rock cliffs, which provide safe nesting habitat for raptors such as kestrels, golden eagles, and peregrine falcons. This impressive canyon hosts various other wildlife species in its caves and oak savannas including gray foxes, bobcats, long-tailed weasels, and mule deer. Pine Canyon is a wildlife corridor for myriad species including migrating monarch butterflies. Learn about the unexpected surprises of the 2024 peregrine falcon mating season which has not gone according to the pattern of the past decade. This hike is limited to 20 guests. Learn more and register here.
