This year’s East Bay Regional Park District Black Birders Week will kick off at Thurgood Marshall Regional Park – Home of the Port Chicago 50!
You’ll bird among the bunkers (technically, magazines) and along the railroad tracks of this former weapons depot, while learning about the site’s significance in the desegregation of the U.S. military and reflecting about the work that still needs to be done to make everyone feel welcome in their public lands.
Further information: Bring water and sun protection; coffee, snacks, binoculars, and birding books are provided; no registration required
