Come visit the CREPUSCULAR CRITTERS OF BOHEMIA ECOLOGICAL PRESERVE FOR A TRIP INTO THE WORLD OF BATS and other nighttime creatures . . .
. . . AND A POTLUCK DINNER WITH OPTIONAL OVERNIGHT!
Join Joani (docent) and crew for a late afternoon/twilight hike at the Bohemia Ecological Preserve in the hills of Occidental. After a brief introduction to the wonders of the Preserve we will be delving into the world of nature’s magic, enjoying a wonderful potluck dinner (including your favorite beverage), watching the stars and the bats come out, and then talking about (and maybe seeing) more night life. Those interested might even do some spotlighting.
We might expect to see: moths and mosquitoes for sure, some insectivorous bats, possibly owls, perhaps fox, raccoons, skunks, and who knows what else.
Our hike will be 2-3 miles over moderately hilly terrain. Assume you will stay until the end due to logistics.
Please ARRIVE by 4:30 pm where we’ll carpool up into the hills. This event is adult-focused.
