Butterflies of Sierra Azul

Docent Naturalists Jan Hintermeister and Vivian Neou will be your traveling companions on this leisurely-paced hike (appr. 3.5 miles) through varied habitats of the Bald Mountain and Mt. Umunhum trails. Starting from the Bald Mountain Park Area you’ll later car pool / caravan to the Mount Umunhum summit for further exploration. Although the focus is on butterflies, you’ll see many other plant and animal species on the shoulders and summit of Mt. Umunhum.
There will be a short lunch break along the way. Bring binoculars if you have them.
