California Biodiversity Day

September 10, 2020 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

| Free

California is both the most populous state in the United States and a global biodiversity hotspot with the most species and ecosystems in the nation. Unfortunately, California’s unique biodiversity is also under threat from many factors including development, the impact of climate change, increased forest diseases and more. All Californians can help to reverse the trend of declining biodiversity, and California Biodiversity 2020 is a great way to take positive action. California Biodiversity Day 2020 celebrations will take place September 5-13 with a variety of programs highlighting the state’s exceptional biodiversity and encouraging actions to protect it. On September 10, join us for an online interactive session that will highlight California State Parks’ work in protecting biodiversity. Come explore biodiversity in the State Parks’ Bay Area District, get a peek into work in the field, learn about career paths, and ask questions. This session is aimed at middle and high school students and is open to the general public. We encourage participation by students and educators and will be prioritizing questions from these participants. Instructions for submitting questions ahead of time will be sent after registration.Information about the webinar will also be sent after registration.  For more information, contact Lisette Arellano at Please use the subject line “CA Biodiversity 2020” for a quicker response.
