Coyote Ridge Wildflower Hike

Saturday, March 23 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

Join Greenbelt Alliance and the Santa Clara Open Space Authority on a family-friendly hike along the top of Coyote Ridge. Open only to docent-led tours, Coyote Ridge Open Space Preserve offers one of the most beautiful wildflower displays in the entire Bay Area.

This serpentine soil habitat is home to more than 10 different endangered species of plants and animals. We’ll take in sweeping views of Coyote Valley while we enjoy the sunshine and breeze. If we are lucky, we may even spot the elusive and shy Tule Elk herd. Join us and discover why Greenbelt Alliance is working so hard to protect Coyote Valley from sprawl development.

Please RSVP:

Trip leader:  Teri Rogoway

Total Distance:  This is a moderate four-mile there and back hike with just a little elevation change.
Weather Policy:   Rain Cancels.
Where to meet:  We’ll meet our docent from the Santa Clara Valley Open Space Authority at the parking area for the Metcalf Motorcycle Park, the staging area for our hike.
Leaders Note:  Bring water, snacks, lunch, dress in layers, and wear good hiking shoes. Don’t forget your camera. If you have any questions about this outing, email Ken Lavin or phone him at 415-543-6771 x321.
