Join Wholly H2O and Friends of Sausal Creek (FOSC) for a super fun bioblitz at Oakland’s Dimond Park!
Dimond Park is a beautiful green space located in the Dimond District near the upper end of Fruitvale Avenue. The park is complimented by the lush Sausal Creek that meanders throughout it.
Dedicated citizen scientists have already documented and confirmed 240 species in the Dimond Park area. Foxes have even been seen playing on the bridge by Wellington Avenue.
During the BioBliz, we’ll spend the first 1.75 hours observing any and all living things with your camera or cell phone, and the last 15 minutes looking at a few of our observations together and making sure they get added to iNaturalist.
Join us to learn more about the area in which you live, the watershed and the ecosystem residents! Pretty simple and it’s a ton of fun. Bring family, friends, snacks and get ready to learn a bunch, share your expertise, and meet your waterhood neighbors.
