Start your New Year with a jolt and join docent naturalists Stephen Buckhout and Lyle Rice for a fun and educational hike (appr. 2 miles) along the active but usually quiet San Andreas Fault. You’ll stop to discuss the wonders of plate tectonics, examine remnants left by numerous prior earthquakes, and learn how to prepare for future earthquakes.
Note: Families with engaged children who are attentive listeners and capable of hiking several miles are welcome on this leisurely-paced outing with minimal elevation change. More info here.
