El Cerrito Hillside Festival

The El Cerrito Trail Trekkers are proud to host the tenth annual El Cerrito Hillside Festival in El Cerrito’s 100-acre gem, the Hillside Natural Area. There’s something for everyone at the festival, including guided, informative hikes about the geology, trees, edible and medicinal plants, birds, lichen, and El Cerrito history. Family-friendly events include a nature scavenger hunt, crafting from nature, art in the trees, and the ever-popular insect hike. People of all ages can learn how to use apps to identify flora and fauna or enter a haiku contest and hear the winners recite their poetry on a haiku hike. See the full schedule here.

Hikes range from strenuous to easy. Location: Hillside Natural Area, 7501 Schmidt Lane, El Cerrito. Sponsored by El Cerrito Trail Trekkers and El Cerrito’s Environmental Quality Committee. All events are free.
