Join us for a new hike along Coyote Ridge led by a Santa Clara Valley naturalist. Take advantage of this unique opportunity for private access to the preserve and learn native plants such as the bee plant, the rare and protected Mt Hamilton thistle and Santa Clara Valley dudleya as well as the chance to see Burrowing Owls and Tule Elk. Bay Checker Spot caterpillars and early flowers such as Shooting Start, Milk Maids, Redmaids, Popcorn flower and others should be in bloom. The ridge affords us magnificent views of Shingle Valley and serpentine soils in which native plants flourish. We will end the day with a social picnic lunch. Picnic lunch and parking pass are included. Registration is required. Please visit website and go to Hike # 2 to register. Detailed directions and other information will be provided once you register.
