On this moderately-paced hike (appr. 5 miles) with Docent Naturalists Rae Collins, Nancy Weintraub, and Bobbie Riedel you’ll walk along the famous San Andreas Fault and learn how its movement builds the landscape around you. You’ll also discover an outcrop of rock that was once on the bottom of an ancient tropical ocean. A vast view from Black Mountain will reveal the entire story of moving mountains and the fault system at work in the Bay Area. Please be prepared to walk quickly on a continuous incline to Black Mountain.
