With beach wildflowers in bloom and migrating shorebirds returning, join Friends of Five Creeks volunteers Sat., Sept. 14, 10 AM – 12:30 PM in the “Brickyard” Bay shoreline area south of University Avenue, Berkeley. We’ll remove invasive ice plant (fun for all ages), dig out small re-sprouts of Pampas grass, and pick up trash along the beach, all part of readying this fenced portion of McLaughlin Eastshore State Park for the public.
We supply gloves, snacks, tools, and good company. We recommend long pants, long sleeves, and closed-toed shoes with good traction. Bring sun protection and a re-usable water bottle. Groups of five or more please RSVP to email@example.com. Otherwise, just show up!
Meet at the south end of Sea Breeze Deli parking lot, 598 University, just west of I-80. Easy by AC Transit 51B or by foot or bicycle on the Bay Trail or the pedestrian-bicycle bridge over the freeway. . We enter as a group — please be on time!
