Hiking Coyote Hills

Sunday, December 4 @ 9:30 am - 1:00 pm

| Free

This saunter takes you from marshland to hilltop through thousands of years of human history and millions of years of geologic time. Coyote Hills was once the site of a Tuibun Ohlone village. In more recent times, it was a ranch and farm, a quarry, a hunting club, and even a Cold War missile launch site! And if that weren’t enough, the rock we’ll be walking on was formed from the skeletons of tiny planktonic creatures that once floated in Jurassic seas. After this hike (a moderate 4-mile round trip with a few hundred feet in elevation gain), you’ll visit the nectar garden and park visitor center to view exhibits illustrating the area’s Ohlone heritage.

$5 per vehicle park entrance fee.
