In-person: Bat Monitoring

BLACK DIAMOND REGIONAL PARK – Become a citizen scientist and explore the importance of bats all over the world! Join a naturalist to hike .5 mile up hill on rocky terrain to monitor bat species as they emerge from the mines, into the night sky.

  • All participants must be age 7 or older, and parent participation is required.
  • Flashlights, water, snacks, jacket and sturdy shoes are highly recommended.
  • This program is 2.25 hours long and begins by meeting in the upper parking lot which is 1 mile past the kiosk.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions masks are required, and social distancing between participants must be maintained.

Parking Fee $5.00.
