Join Lisa for the Gallinago Go Gos’ 16th year in the Fall Challenge! No matter if you are an experienced birder, or if this is your first bird-a-thon, the Go Gos welcome all birding levels. The goal is to get out and have a great time while learning about the birds that can be found in the fall near Charleston Slough in Mountain View. Lisa will spend the 4-hour birdathon birding throughout the walking trails found in this Bay Area hot spot.
This event is part of SFBBO’s annual California Fall Challenge (CFC) fundraiser. Registration is $60 and you are eligible to receive a 2020 California Fall Challenge t-shirt. The value of the t-shirt ($10) is not tax deductible. The shirt design will be unveiled after September 28th.
Lisa owns her own touring company called Let’s Go Birding, Inc., and leads tours throughout California and Central America. She also teaches birding classes and provides a fun, easy-going environment to learn, ask questions, and increase skill levels. Lisa also owns the Los Gatos Birdwatcher, a strong business supporter of SFBBO.
While the Gallinago Go Gos and SFBBO welcomes support from everyone, the walk will be limited to 10 participants. The trails thoughout Charleston Slough are wide and provide ample room to maintain proper spacing. This trip is recommended for adults and children 12 and older.
All volunteers and participants will be asked to follow the social distancing protocols:
- Wear face masks at all times during the event
- Stay 6 feet apart from others who are not in your household
- Do not share common touch items (scopes, binoculars, clipboards, handouts, books etc.) with people outside your household
- HEALTH CHECK – prior to the event all participants will be asked to do a self-health assessment at home and fill out a form asking if they are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms and if they or anyone they live with have COVID-19 or have been in contact with anyone who has COVID-19. If they answer yes to either of these, we hope you can still support the California Fall Challenge but ask that you stay at home.
Please also reference the CDC’s social distancing guidelines.
The CFC is SFBBO’s biggest fundraising campaign. Our goal is to raise $33,000 to support our work throughout the year and we hope you will participate and support us to reach our goal! Register below; further event details will be sent to you before the event. Questions? Contact Kristin Butler at email@example.com.
