Have you heard of the term “mixed flock”? In this episode of “In the Field Live,” we’ll not only be demonstrating bird banding and discussing its conservation importance, we’ll also be focusing on groups of mixed species that we see flying around and hunting for food together during winter. It’s an exciting thing to come across while out birding in the colder months. Searching for all of the different species is a rewarding challenge and we will likely be capturing some of the species that are flocking up in the bushes and forests outside our Field Station door. Our Palomarin Field Station scientists look forward to hosting you!
