Live from the Lab: Cassin’s Auklet Diet Study

December 17, 2020 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

| Free

Zooplanktivorous seabird puke!? Join Point Blue marine lab assistants Olivia and Rebecca as they sift through Cassin’s auklet puke (yes, puke again), in order to identify what species of zooplankton (or small, shrimp-like ocean creatures) these seabirds are munching on around the Farallon Islands National Wildlife Refuge! Understanding the diet of this seabird and how it changes annually give us an inside look into ocean health and how it relates to breeding success. Join us from this event page or just pop on to our main Facebook landing page at the time of the event to see the tiny but mighty zooplankton that are the foundation of the marine food web!
