Join Latino Outdoors: SF Bay Area and our partners Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District for a short wildflower walk!
Join us on Saturday, April 2nd for a family friendly Wildflower Walk at Russian Ridge Open Space Preserve at 9:00am.
We’ll leisurely walk along the Ridge Trail to Borel Hill, offering breathtaking views of both the Pacific Ocean and the San Francisco Bay and lush grasslands. We’ll make frequent stops to make observations of and learn about the folklore, medicinal uses, and biology of the wildflowers and plants we find around us. We’ll provide some shared flower guides to reference during our walk. After our hike, you’ll have the option to join in a tissue flower making activity, participate in a giveaway, and enjoy some empanadas!
Things to note:
- The trail is an easy, out and back 1.8 total miles with about 315 ft in elevation.
- The trail is exposed and has no shade. Please bring sun protection (sun screen/hat).
- Pets are not allowed.
- The trail is used by bicyclists, hikers, and horses.
Please RSVP to let us know you’ll join us!
