Please join renowned author – and Bay Nature co-founder – Malcolm Margolin and friends at Toby’s Feed Barn in person in Point Reyes Station for a joyous celebration of his latest book: Deep Hanging Out: Wanderings and Wonderment in Native California (Heyday).
Special invited guest speakers who will be in conversation with Malcolm include California Indian cultural leaders Gregg Castro (Salinan-Rumsien/Ramaytush Ohlone), Michelle La Pena (Pit River), Jennifer Bates (Northern Sierra Mewuk) and Theresa Harlan (Tewa/Santo Domingo Pueblo & adopted Coast Miwok) with other special guests to be announced. Claire Greensfelder, Associate Director of the California Institute for Community, Art & Nature, Malcolm’s latest creative effort that he founded in 2017 after retiring from Heyday, will moderate the event. Displays of information about California I CAN’s many projects will also be featured.
Please plan on arriving early so that we can begin promptly at 3:00 PM.
A VIP fundraising reception for Calfornia I CAN with Malcolm and our guest speakers will be held before the event at 1:30 PM in the Gallery at the back of Toby’s store. REGISTER HERE FOR THE VIP RECEPTION.
Both events are hosted by Point Reyes Books with co-sponsorship from the California Institute for Community, Art & Nature and Heyday Books.
In the interest of keeping all of our friends healthy, we kindly request that everyone wear a mask at this event and come prepared to provide proof of vaccination upon entry into Toby’s Feed Barn.
