MMWD Habitat Restoration: Restore Open Oak Woodlands

August 17, 2019 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

| Free

Volunteers will focus on removing Douglas-fir seedlings from oak woodlands along Lake Lagunitas. Unchecked Douglas-fir growth turns wildlife- and plant-rich meadows and oak woodlands into closed-canopy forests. Meet at the Lake Lagunitas Parking Lot for an orientation and safety talk at 9:00am.

Suitable for ages 13 and up.

Before coming up to the watershed, check our website and FIRESafe MARIN’s website for closures due to Red Flag Warnings: and We will NOT have the August 17 event if there is a Red Flag Warning for the Marin hills on that day.

Please bring a water bottle, closed toe shoes and clothes for variable weather. Bring your lunch. We will provide tools, breakfast snacks and water!
Minors under the age of 16 must have a guardian present. Those ages 16-18 must have permission from a guardian.
