Have you tried sowing seed or taking cuttings of desired plants and the outcome was not fruitful?
Join this hands-on workshop with the Laguna Foundation’s amazing Nursery Manager, Ayla Mills, and master gardener/California Native Plant Society (CNPS) Nursery Manager, Betty Young, to discover the secrets of successful propagation.
Some background on the science of seed germination and how specific cuttings root will be provided. Following the science, you’ll learn about the process and necessary steps to successfully propagate your plants. You’ll change gears, get your hands dirty, do pre-germination treatments, and sow seed. After lunch, you’ll learn about the different types of cuttings, when different plants root best, and try your hands at preparing and sticking different types of cuttings! At the end of the day, each participant will leave with their own container of sown seeds and cuttings.
Pre-registration is required.
