Nature for all at Foothills Nature Preserve

Thursday, January 28 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

| Free

Join Grassroots Ecology and the City of Palo Alto as we celebrate the natural wonders of Foothills Nature Preserve!

Nestled in the foothills of the Santa Cruz Mountains, Foothills Nature Preserve is a nature-lover’s paradise and provides family-friendly recreation options for the public. Since 2013, Grassroots Ecology has been working with the City of Palo Alto to steward and restore habitat there. This preserve has varied trails that meander through multiple ecosystems, a beautiful pond, rare plants, and diverse wildlife, and it is now open for all to enjoy. We are excited to share some of the amazing things this natural treasure has to offer!

A Ranger from the City of Palo Alto will introduce you to the preserve and give helpful tips for accessing its numerous opportunities for recreation. Grassroots Ecology staff will share Foothills’ unique ecology, highlighting sensitive habitat, native plants and animals, and a few of its most special spots.

This event is open to all. Grassroots Ecology encourages people from all identities and backgrounds to participate in our programs.
