Curious about the quirks of Quercus? Join us for this stimulating hike as we explore the science and ecology of local oak trees of the bay area. As primary producers, these organisms are the center of life in an oak woodland forest. These nutrient powerhouses provide essential calories for hundreds of species, in addition to crucial habitat. Learn about their special adaptations and the interrelationships among these grand beings. This will be a strenuous hike that will begin at the Knight Drive trailhead.
