Outdoor Afro Hosts Seventh Annual ‘Glamp In’

October 22, 2021 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

| Free

Outdoor Afro, the nation’s leading nonprofit celebrating Black connections and leadership in nature, presents the seventh annual Glamp In gala on Friday, October 22 at 8 p.m. EDT / 5 p.m. PDT. The virtual fundraising event will unite people from around the world FREE of charge from the comfort of their homes in support of inspiring #BlackJoy within local communities.

Building upon the success of five consecutive years of sold out in-person events and virtual gala in 2020, this glamorous evening will feature Outdoor Afro Founder and CEO Rue Mapp, keynote speaker Nadine Burke Harris (Surgeon General of California), wildlife ecologist Dr. Rae Wynn-Grant, and renowned park ranger Shelton Johnson, with a special musical performance by Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Fantastic Negrito and country singer Miko Marks.

This year’s honorees include The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation for Partner of the Year, Lifetime Achievement Award Winner Shelton Johnson and Outdoor Afro Leader of the Year Hillary Van Dyke. With more than 100 volunteer leaders in 56 cities, Outdoor Afro connects thousands of people to outdoor experiences, effectively helping to change the face of conservation.
