Join Grizzly Peak Fly Fishers and other F5C volunteers removing heavy brush and ivy that has been allowed to block views, threaten trees, and increase flood risk on Codornices Creek west of San Pablo. Help us make the “creekside trail” here what it should be. Codornices Creek has been badly neglected; our focus this year is to bring it back for people and wildlife.
Tools, gloves, snacks, and good company provided. Bring a re-usable water bottle. Wear closed-toed shoes with good traction and dress to get dirty, in layers for changing weather. We work in a drizzle, but heavy rain cancels.
Meet at 10th Street and the creek, one block north of Harrison Street, one block west of San Pablo, on the south edge of University Village and the Berkeley/Albany border. Tenth Street is blocked here; you must approach from either Berkeley or Albany. Parking can be scarce; please allow time to find a space and walk a block or two. AC Transit 72, 52, and 18 get you there.
Groups of more than five please RSVP. Otherwise, just show up. Info: email@example.com.
