Roving Docent & Foot Patrol Training

February 29, 2020 @ 8:00 am - 2:00 pm

Feb 29, 2020
8:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Armstrong Roving Docent, Austin Creek Foot Patrol (or Sonoma Coast/Willow Creek). This training will go over logistics and expectations for your interactions with the public as representatives for both Stewards and State Parks. The morning will begin with a group introduction and brief orientation. We will then break into two groups depending on your intent. If you are interested in becoming an Armstrong Roving Docent you will accompany experienced Roving Docents to learn about how they conduct their service to visitors throughout the park. If you are interested in becoming a Foot Patrol or Public Assistance Volunteer in Austin Creek you will accompany long time volunteer Mark Anderson as he shows you the ropes of his patrol. IF you are interested in patrolling or roving the coast we recommend you join this training as well as the principles and expectations are the same.

This training is required for all those who wish to rove or patrol and have not yet completed this training. This will allow you to gain the knowledge you need to be a freely roving and patrolling volunteer throughout the lower Russian River State Parks.
