Salmon of San Geronimo Valley

Wednesday, January 17 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

| Free

Meet at the Leo T. Cronin Fish Viewing Area west of Lagunitas.

Each year, several species of Pacific salmon migrate up certain creeks to breed. We’ll look for evidence of fish as we discuss the biology of these remarkable animals. The timing of these activities is subject to numerous environmental variables, but if we’re lucky we might have a chance to observe spawning activity. It can be quite cold by the creek so bring warm clothing; also, polarized glasses are helpful to see the fish better. Remember to bring binoculars, if you have them.

This walk is for ages 18 and up. We request that no pets (except service animals) attend. Rain may cancel. If questionable weather, call (415) 893-9527 after 10am on the morning of the event to hear a recorded message if cancelled.

No registration is required.

Questions: Contact Shannon Burke at or (415) 893-9520.

DIRECTIONS: From Hwy 101 in Larkspur, take the exit for Sir Francis Drake Blvd west 13.6 miles, the parking area is on the left (just past Shafter Bridge).
