San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park: A Thousand and Seventeen Acres of Stories – Author Talk with Christopher Pollock

The Helen Crocker Russell Library of Horticulture is pleased to present a virtual evening with Christopher Pollock, San Francisco Recreation and Park Department’s Historian in Residence. In commemoration of the 150th anniversary of Golden Gate Park during 2020, Christopher Pollock will discuss his significantly updated 2001 book about the park.

This talk will highlight some of the substantial changes to the park. Included will be newly discovered fascinating historical facts, accompanied by new and historical photos. A few surprising historical objects have been found after decades not being seen by the public and their stories will be revealed.
