San Francisco’s Natural History with Harry Fuller

Wednesday, March 14 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

| $10 – $20

This fascinating presentation will move across three centuries of observation and change in the wildlife and ecology of San Francisco. Once rattlesnakes ruled Telegraph Hill and a grizzly bear was seen swimming across Mission Creek. Today most creeks are underground and exotic trees fringe the horizon. We will look at the introduced, the invasive, the survivors and the prospects of the future. From nano-plastic pollution to climate change, people can now alter the future of all living organisms in the environment. The banning of DDT in 1974 and the subsequent return of Brown Pelicans and Peregrine can be a road map to where we should go now.

Class will be held at the Google Community Space, Main Event Room, 188 The Embarcadero (enter on Steuart Street, San Francisco CA 94105

Copies of Harry’s new book, San Francisco’s Natural History: Sand Dunes to Streetcars, has just been published and will be available for purchase.
