Join Docent Naturalists Nancy Weintraub, Frances Reneau, Dan Antonaccio, and Laura Knott on a scenic hike (appr. 8 miles) traversing four preserves. Starting at Skyline Ridge you’ll enjoy a moderately-paced loop hike along the Bay Area Ridge Trail through Russian Ridge, Coal Creek, and Monte Bello preserves. On the path, you’ll experience breathtaking views and diverse landscapes including shady mixed evergreen forests, canyons, and grassy ridges. You’ll learn how these lands were tended in ancestral times by the Ohlone people and why the land is protected today. This hike is for individuals who are comfortable with “long-distance hiking” and able to walk 2.5 miles per hour.
