This is a one-way hike along the Benicia Vallejo Buffer Trail, which is actually a part of the Bay Area Ridge Trail. Our trip begins with a short round-trip to a rocky ridge then returns to the rolling green lawns and shady picnic areas of Blue Rock Springs Park. It then follows a paved path/sidewalk or bike lane for two miles to the Buffer Trail, which meanders almost three miles up and down hilly grasslands toward Benicia State Recreation Area, providing outstanding views. The last 0.3-mile section of trail is on city streets in Benicia, including a 0.1-mile un-dedicated section. (Bay Area Ridge Trail).
This is a one-way hike of five and a half miles. Cars will pick us up at the end and drive us back to our meeting location.
