Help Sugarloaf with trail restoration work. Work includes bridge and step construction, installing signs, clearing, lifting, carrying and hiking. Bring gloves, hat, and water that you can carry hands-free (i.e. bring a backpack).Wear long pants, boots or sturdy shoes and sunscreen. Poison oak is present, so long sleeves are suggested. We have tools and trained crew leaders with tasks for all. Those under 18 years old must be accompanied by a responsible adult. We will provide tools, food and beverages.

We ask all park visitors to adhere to the Sonoma County health ordinance guidelines, which require the use of masks or face coverings when unable to keep a minimum distance of six feet from others not in your immediate household.

Employee and Volunteer Check-in Procedures

1.  The shift lead will print out a time sheet if not already available.

2.  Employees and volunteers report to Visitor Center to begin their shifts.

3. At VC, the shift lead (staff or steward) will assess employees and volunteers. The shift lead will:

a.  Ask if the reporting person has any fever, dry cough,  shortness of breath, unusual headaches, fatigue, chills, gastrointestinal distress, or loss of smell/taste.

i. Do they live with anybody with these symptoms?
ii. Have they recently come in contact with any person diagnosed with COVID-19?

If the reporting person answers yes to any of these questions, they must go home.

b. Use the forehead thermometer to check the temperature of the reporting person. If they have a temperature above 100F (average of three), advise them to go home.

c.  Go over procedures for:
i. Social distancing
ii. Hand sanitizing and washing
iii. Sanitizing work surfaces
iv. Mask wearing
v. Review park status and operations
vi. Modifications to volunteer activity. Volunteer will grab and sanitize their own radio unless the VC is not open, in which case, radios and wipes will be available in the locker.
