From the Juniper trailhead we’ll head up to the peak where we’ll visit the interpretive center. Then we’ll circle the mountaintop on the Mary Bowerman Trail before descending to Oak Knoll and working our way back to the trailhead. Much of our route will pass through areas that burned in the September 2013 Morgan Fire. Allow 5 hours for this 6.5 mile hike with an elevation gain of about 1500 ft. Steady relaxed pace with a 30-minute lunch and other rest breaks. Wear layered clothing and bring plenty of water.
Be prepared for mud and poison oak. Steady rain cancels.
