About this Event
As part of Greenbelt Alliance’s Future Climate Webinar Series we invite you to join us as we sit down with notable Bay Area climate leaders. In each 30 minute session you will have the opportunity to connect with these inspiring professionals, hear their stories, and get an inside look into the amazing work that they do on issues relating to climate adaptation planning, equity, community engagement, and more.
This week our featured guest is Keziah Mills from the Bay Area Sunrise Movement. Keziah is a community organizer with the Sunrise Movement, a movement dedicated to making climate change an urgent priority across America, ending the corrupting influence of fossil fuel executives on our politics, and electing leaders who stand up for the health and wellbeing of all people. Her work centers upon actively wrestling with the legacy of mainstream environmentalism that has historically left justice out of its approach.
She is involved in the Sunrise Movement’s Bay Area hub, primarily focusing on justice, equity and anti-oppression work. Prior to organizing with Sunrise, Keziah was employed as an asylum and immigration legal assistant. Keziah holds a B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Film & Digital Media from UC Santa Cruz, and will be starting a MA/PhD program in Psychology with a specialization in Community, Liberation, Indigenous, and Eco Psychologies this upcoming fall.
