Meet at Sunol Visitor Center
Creekside Discoveries – Bug out during this creekside discovery in Sunol. A special guest from our stewardship department will bring nets & materials to help us explore & get a closer look as we journal about this unique underwater world.
This workshop includes live bug viewing and a short walk down to the creek behind the Sunol Visitor Center. There will be a netting demo in Alameda Creek for catching aquatic insects. **Anyone wishing to enter the creek will need to go through decontamination and cleaning procedures to prevent transport of aquatic pathogens.
RECOMMENDED MATERIALS: backpack/bag with journal, field watercolors or other color medium, folding chair, close-toed shoes, hat/sunscreen, water, binoculars, **clean footwear that can get wet for those interested in entering the creek (we will also provide cleaning equipment).
Participants are required to adhere to East Bay Regional Park District Covid safety measures at all times during the program.
Two sessions – Virtual workshop 9-10am pacific & in-person 11am-noon.
