Watching the bats fly from the Yolo Causeway is an unforgettable event, and now you can join us on Facebook to watch from home! The 250,000 Mexican free-tailed bats that call the Yolo Causeway home consume mostly crop pests, like the corn earworm moth and the armyworm moth along with some mosquitoes. Corky will set up a tablet so we can watch the bats as they form their long ribbons into the sky above the Yolo Bypass Wildlife Area.

We will watch from the east side of the bypass where we typically take our Bat Talk & Walk tours. It is next to the rice fields and is in an area not accessible to the public. She will talk about the bats and other things of interest in the wildlife area. Enjoy the sunset and view of the bats from wherever you are.
