Cull Canyon Regional Recreation Area
by Bay Nature Staff on July 08, 2012
This park near Castro Valley is a fine place to swim on a hot summer day, fish, or just relax in the outdoors any time of year.
This 360-acre recreation area features a 1.5-acre swim lagoon including a sandy beach and wading area. Fishing for bass, catfish, and sunfish is available in the reservoir adjacent to the lagoon. There are also trails for hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding. The park is on the Chabot-to-Garin Regional Trail, which is being developed between Chabot Regional Park to the north and west and Garin Regional Park to the south. An East Bay Municipal Utility District pass is needed to make the connection through EBMUD lands.
